I'm a widow and retired librarian, who never went around the library hushing people up.  In our library, the librarians were probably the loudest of the lot, and the readers shushed us! 

I live in a tiny town with no public library; the nearest library has an exorbitant non-resident fee. I love to read, all kinds of books; when nothing else is available, I'll even read catalogs.

I have six grandchildren, five of them girls, and one lone boy.  Can you imagine our family holidays when he's seven and hates "girruls?"  My current project is encouraging all of them to love books.  Every year we make a trip to Borders, and then go out to lunch.  It seems to be working.

I don't smoke and currently have no pets.  Only the books I buy used or get through PBS could be a problem for those with allergies.
